Third local network meeting in Italy

The third local network meeting of the VSTART project took place on 6th November in Livorno. It was organized by Cospe in collaboration with the support service for victims of crimes “VIS network “. Participants were representatives of the main associations and institutions of the north-west of Tuscany, committed to offering assistance to victims and potential victims: VIS Livorno, Randi Association, Ministry of Justice – UEPE Livorno, Guardia di Finanza (financial police), Arma dei Carabinieri (police forces), Livorno Police Headquarters, Police Headquarters – Anti-Crime Section, Azienda Usl Toscana nord-ovest (local health services), Prefecture of Livorno, Ippogrifo, Vision Vittimologia.

The Advisor on Equal Opportunities of the Province of Livorno and coordinator of the VIS Network, Dr. Cristina Cerrai, described in detail Directive 29/2012/EU establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime. Subsequently, the President of the Court of Justice of Livorno, Dr. Massimo Antonio Orlando illustrated the newly established “Family section” of the Court of Justice of Livorno. After his speech, Udo Enwereuzor talked about the characteristics of hate crimes and Sara Cerretelli illustrated the ten recommendations emerged from the research carried out in the framework of the V-start project.
