First meeting of the local network in Austria

The first local network meeting in Austria was held on May 15th, 2018. Representatives of six different organizations took the first steps in creating an effective, trans-sectoral network so that we can strengthen our cooperation and lobby for more visibility of hate crime in Austria. The six organizations included the Romano Centro, Dokustelle – Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Racism, the Litigation Association of NGOs Against Discrimination, Weisser Ring, ZARA-Training and ZARA – Civil Courage and Anti-Racism-Work.

During the first meeting, we focused on getting to know each other better and identified our shared interests, internal objectives, means of communication and our follow-up strategies. Initial steps to develop to a common understanding of the phenomenon of hate crime were taken and we were able to strengthen out alliances.
